Question : How does the Macys employee discount work?
I just got a job at Macys...they haven't explained the employee discount to me yet, so I need to know. They pay practically nothing (this is by far the lowest I've been paid in my life), and if the discount isn't good I might not go to training. Do I need to use my Macys credit card? What departments don't get discounts? Can I use the discount at sister stores?I've previously read that you need to have the credit card to get the discount. I know it's 20% but it doesn't include all departments. If Coach and Movado aren't included, I'm out of there.

All Answers: Answer #1I don't know the specifics but generally retail store discounts I've seen have ranged from 10 to20%, depending where you work. I assume thatMacy's probably has a discount of 15%, and can beused at all Macy's locations. You probably don'tneed to use the Macy's card, and I am not sure ifthey accept it at Bloomingdale's.

i worked at macys to and the pay was horrible. the discount works likes this u have the creditcard and u can use it anywhere in the store andthey take 10% off of your monthly bill.

As an employee for Macy's, you use your Macys cardand you'll recieve a 20% discount on almostanything you purchase. The discount is back officewhich means you won't see the discount until youget the statement. Macy's often has doublediscount days where you'll recieve 30%-40% offmerch at the store just for using your card. Ifyou talk to your HR department you can also useyour card at Bloomingdales and recieve the same20% discount off your purchases.I work behind thescenes.

It is likely that some departments are excluded. This doesn't sound like a job you are lookingforward to very much, so maybe you should considerwhether you really want to work when you view thevalue as being just the discount. You'd have tospend an awful lot at Macy's each year to earnenough to make up for what you view as very badincome.

The discount is part of your pay. If you cannotask the employment office or personel office, whatyou have asked strangers, then I wouldn't want toemploy you.
