Question: #1: Which online diamond retailer has better engagement rings: www.bluenile.com orwww.jamesallen.com?
I know Bluenile.com is the largest online diamondwebsite, but they seem to "drop ship" what theysell where jamesallen.com seems to be the onlywebsite with real diamond images meaning theyactualy see every diamond before they ship them.
- asked by Joy H
Check out www.goodoldgold.com, I found my diamondthere. All their diamonds on the website arein-house and they have actual pictures of thediamonds. You can have them ship the diamond to anappraiser near you so you can see the diamond inperson. - answered by: sappergirl View All Answers (4)

I have looked at their website and am impressedbut do not know anyone who has done this so . . .I am asking all of you for your expereince on bluenile. Thanks!

My friend did and she loooooves the ring. I'd sayit's a good idea if you have a chance to look athow the ring looks on your finger at a jewelrystore before you buy it on bluenile. - answered by: *Chantal+Rob*6.14.08* View All Answers (9)

my boyfriend and I are looking into diamonds and another site has recommended usingbluenile.com....Any comments good or bad about it?
- asked by macks2u
bluenile.com is a good store, you won't have anyproblems with them. Diamond.com is also good andthey have a 15% coupon right now at http://www.giantcodes.com/Jewelry/Diamond-com-Codes/index.html - answered by: gretta View All Answers (2)
Question: #5: Is LooseDiamonds.cc as reliable as Bluenile.com?
I came across this site http://www.loosediamonds.cc while looking for alarger diamond to replace my smaller engagementstone. Are they as reliable as bluenile.com? Theirpolicy's look almost exactly the same. Are theyunder the same ownership?
- asked by Megan Mathews
I sure thought it was a nice site! You're right itis very similar to Blue Nile. The prices seemed abit cheaper when I built similar rings at eachsite. I don't know if they are same owner, butthey certainly have many of the samecharacteristics. Personally I liked the layout ofwww.loosediamonds.cc better than Blue Nile! - answered by: Jim E View All Answers (1)
Question: #6: HAVE YOU BOUGHT from bluenile.com? Why do retailers sell DIAMONDS for less than theappraisal price?
I received a diamond ring from my bf and it costabout $440 canadian dollars/$390 USD, but theappraisal made by a gemologist at blue nile setthe ring's value at $650 USD.Why would they sellit to me for $390USD when they appraised it for$650 USD?Secondly, has anyone purchased frombluenile.com, I was just wondering how yourexperience was with them.
- asked by chocolate_cat
You can almost always find diamonds for less thanwhat they are appraised for. The true value ofthe diamond is not always what they're sold for. It's kind of like going to a car dealership andgetting a $15,000 car for $14,000. They're stillmaking money off of you, but the original value ofthe car was $15,000.As for Blue Nile, they're anexcellent choice. I run a free diamond searchservice (see the link in the source box below) andBlue Nile is often at the top. In fact, I boughtmy own wife's engagement ring there. - answered by: brian1572000 View All Answers (1)

Question: #9: bluenile.com diamond rings?
how are the quality of the diamonds? is it worth the prices?
- asked by MyrKeD
Blue Nile has some of the best prices around onhigh quality diamonds. I run several diamond andmarriage proposal sites, and I even run a freediamond search service where we search for thelowest prices on high quality diamonds fromseveral of the top diamond jewelry sites outthere.Blue Nile is often towards the very top. Ihighly recommend them from a professionalperspective. In fact, I've even purchased mywife's engagement ring from them as well. The keywith any diamond online is to know what you arebuying. If you shop for GIA certified diamonds(the best grading institute around), which BlueNile has, and look for the best cuts, you're sureto find an amazing diamond at a much lower pricethan almost any local jeweler. One of my sites isMarriage-Proposal-Ideas.com where I also run afree diamond search. If you contact me, I'd behappy to do a free search for you -- we don't sellany diamonds ourselves and only search the topdiamond jewelry sites for you.But to sum it up,Blue Nile is one of the best places to buy adiamond from, as they don't even deal with poorquality diamonds. - answered by: brian1572000 View All Answers (2)
