All Answers: Answer #1The BA pilots and crew are one of the best trained in the world. It is interesting that the planecompletely lost power before landing and crashedwithout any warning. It could still be due topilot's fatigue (tiredness). - answered by curious

Answer #3 The story has a couple contradictory points. Onepart says the engines were out and then apassenger says the engines were roaring like fortakeoff. I would tend to believe the initialreport of wind-shear but will hold judgment untilthe investigation is complete. Too many factorsinvolved to cast blame this early. - answered by nick@night
Answer #4 That is not a crash. A crash is an uncontrolledimpact with the ground at a non-airport location. This was a very hard landing short of threshold. The gear and engines are supposed to shear off inthat case, and they did.As to why they landedshort, you'll have to wait for the investigatorsto finish to find that out. - answered by DT3238
