I received some great advice about coverage on this site for which I thank you all. I used the website ehealthinsurance.com to compare plans but would like to talk to a person as well. Can any recommend a site I could search for an indep. insurance agent in NYC? Or recommend anyone? Is there a charge for a consultation and/or plan comparisons?

There shouldn't be a charge for a consult, quotes,or comparisons. My BEST recommendation, is talk toneighbors, coworkers & friends, ask them if theyhave a great agent they can recommend to you.

I would recommend talking to whomever writes yourhomeowners / auto insurance and go from there. Ifthey can not recommend anyone that you arecomfortable with, speak with your friends andfamily. If this does not work, you can go toiiaba.org which is a web site for independentinsurance agencies. You should be able to find anindependent insurance agent in your area throughthis site.Good luck to you!

Ask your friends who their agent is and if theylike him/her. Web sites are great tools to getinformation, but you need to find an agent who hasa reputation of being trustworthy. Best of luck.

The easiest thing to do is to log on to a websitelike
http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com and fillout a form requesting a quote. Your info will besent to a health insurance broker in your area whowill contact you. A broker works with severalhealth insurance companies and can find the bestdeal for you. Brokers need referrals and a goodreputation to stay in business, so they only workwith reputable companies. There is no charge forthe service and no obligation to buy. Good luck!
