Question : Should I use Progressive or Geico insurance?
Both of these insurance companies have significantly lower rates than what I currently pay at American Family, but by switching am I going to get discount service as well?I am a 25 year old male with two accidents and one speeding ticket in the past five years. Currently pay around close to $1000/6mo at AmFam, both Geico and Progressive are close to $500/6mo.I drive a 2000 Ford Focus sedan, and live in North Dakota. esurance does not have coverage in North Dakota.

Answer #7 I dont have any personal experience w/ geico, butI have to say I haven't heard the best thingsabout them either. I have progressive, and I'vebeen w/ them for years. They are pretty fair andI've never had a problem w/ customer service. Justmake sure that the quotes that you received werecomparable in coverages, and that that's not thereason they are so much lower. - answered by ME
Answer #8 If you're sure you're comparing apples to apples, and have the same coverage from both companies, choose whichever you prefer. As a personal choice,I have Progressive and get wonderful service fromthem. - answered by oklatom
Answer #9 I've had both and would definitely recommendProgressive. I had a minor fender bender a fewweeks ago and they handled it flawlessly. Theaccident happened on Monday, my car was fixed byThursday with no out of pocket deductible. Aclaims rep was in contact with me everyday withupdates. Plus they are lower priced than anyother insurance company in the area. - answered by Ted R
Answer #10 I work for an insurance company in NC and if I hadto choose between the two companies, I would gowith Progressive versus GEICO. GEICO doesn't havea very good reputation in our area. - answered by jaimess0719
Answer #11 Please definitely review what they are giving youand make sure that you're not getting a loweramount of coverage at a lower price. I know thatAmerican Family generally doesn't write low limitpolicies, but Geico and Progressive do.. both ofthose companies don't like to discuss coverageswith you either so you might be jumping into thiswithout even realizing that they've set you upwith lower limits! Best thing to do is pull outyour Declarations Page (or call AmFam and ask themfor your coverages), then have both companies do arun-down of your coverages with them. Make sureyou're really getting a good deal.As for thediscount services.. Geico and Progressive are twoof the top six companies in the industry. On acase-by-case basis, lots of customers might havecomplaints but generally speaking? They do whatthey do well. I personally wouldn't go witheither but I'm an insurance snob. ;) Eithercompany should be more then able to give you whatyou need!Good luck! - answered by Miss Meli
