Question : how long does it take for insurance companies to settle a claim as my car is a write off?
my car was stolen in march 2008.my insurance company,lloyds-tsb,-churchill insurance,sent me a claim form,sent all documents required 3 weeks ago,and still no reply from the insurance company,does anybody no how long it takes to settle the claim,the car was stolen& insurance asserors told me it was a write off

All Answers: Answer #1Check your policy. There is a time frame specified in the policy that we wait. This is sowe can see if the car is recovered or not. I'm notsure what a "write off" is --- it is not anindustry term I'm familiar with ...

Have you actually rang them to ask if they haverecieved the paperwork?They could be sat waitingfor the paperwork and you waiting for them, youneed to ring them, they wont rush if there notpushed into doing so, the longer the money is intheir account the more interest they will incrueso there not going to rushIve found Churchill tobe really good, but maybe thats because theyvenever had to pay me anything lolWas there anydiscrepancy at all regarding the theft, were theyhappy with all the facts and have they even agreeda figure with you regarding the car?
