Question: #1: lastminute.com?
how safe is it to book a holiday from lastminute.com?? I used expedia before, and it wasfine, but I am not sure about lastmintue.com as Ican't see costumer reviews or anything. Haveanyone had a personal experience?? do they sendyou the tickets etc? or is it all electronic aswell??? Many thanks. Thanks Gaynor, I tried yourwebsite it didn't have my hotel, but the otherprices are not as cheap as that I found onLastmintue.com. I found the package in lastminutemuch cheaper than in expedia, but when gogglelastminute, some very nasty reviews were put downon several websites, and that what made me worry.. Thanks all,for the record, this is my first timeI look seriously at lastminute.com, and what alsomakes me not sure about it, all these pop upwindows (I have a pop up blocker), but some stillmanaged to get through and showing all these dodgymessages for installing some kind of software, allin all, I am quite anxious of using it...... thatis why I wanted to hear from people who did.

It is quite well-known in the UK. Personally Ihave used it on more than one occasions. Withoutany issues. They send you e-tickets via email(flights). But you should always only usecredit/debit cards that has protection whenpurchasing online (on any website). - answered by: ~_~ View All Answers (4)

They have different rules for differing productsand within the products. They are broking emptyseats so not all suppliers will allowcancellations.Their web site explains it veryclearly. Travel costs should always be insuredunless small. - answered by: morwood_leyland View All Answers (3)

Ebay is the worlds leading online market place, you can gaurentee that your item will sell forwhat it's worth, as long as you advertise itproperly. It has been proven that items listedwith lower starting prices sell for more as theygenerate more interest. You will also be chargedless in terms of fee's from Ebay this way, whichwill maximise your profit. - answered by: pcparkhurst3354 View All Answers (2)

Question: #7: Do websites like lastminute.com ALWAYS reduce prices closer to the departure date.?
Im planning a trip to jamaica for 21st june, atthe moment the quote im getting is £724, however,I looked at the same type of flight for tomorrowand its over £100 cheaper. Is this because theyreduce the flight prices as it gets closer to thedeparture date.....or is the 21st june flight moreexpensive because of higher prices at this time ofsummer? please help
- asked by Danielle D
Years ago it was indeed the case that flights usedto get cheaper on a last minute basis becauseairlines used to want to just get "bums on seats". However nowadays it is all about efficiency. They plan based on history, trends etc how manyflights to run and tend to stick to this. Consequently you will find flights over-bookedrather than under and there is advantage for themto offer discounted prices (actually theopposite). The only time they may discount is ifthey have got it wrong and the flight is not full(although then they reserve the right anyway tocancel it!)Therefore to ensure the best price, advance booking is now the way to go. It's not tosay that you won't get lucky and find a specialdeal, but it's not so common nowadays.Already it'slate if you are planning for the 21st June so notmuch advantage if you book now or in two week'stime...... but it's the risk you have to take. Shop about a bit first but I don't think you aregoing to win much - answered by: bla bla View All Answers (3)

You are generally better off booking directly withthe tour operator. Its ABTA bond should protectyou (make sure it has one). If you want additionalprotection, pay with a credit card. This protectsyou under the consumer credit act if the holidaycosts more than £100. - answered by: epidavros View All Answers (2)
